Mojca Lavrenčič

Mojca Lavrenčič in winner of several awards at national and international competitions, including:

— Student Prešeren Award of Ljubljana Academy of Music for concert activity,

— Gold award and «laureate» title at the International Complementary Piano Competition in Niš,

— Silver award, as harpsichordist, at the International Svirel competition.

In 2016, she made her very successful debut as a conductor at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana with the monooper Diary of Anna Frank by Grigori Frida, and the following year she conducted the youth ballet performance Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev and the opera Philip Glass’s Beauty and the Beast.

In September 2018, she conducted the first performance of the children’s fairytale opera The Lord and the Pears of the Slovenian Composer Dušan Bavdek at the Cankar’s Hall / Cankarjev dom.

This was followed by performances of Offenbach’s opera Hoffmann’s Tales and a ballet performance Giselle by Adolph Adam.

The work of young and successful conductor extends beyond music and theater, as she regularly conducts other professional orchestras, such as:

Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio and Television Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Army Orchestra

In the 2017/2018 season, she was the Kapellmeister of the Jesuit College Music Chapel, and in October 2018 she took over the position of artistic director of the GREX SYMPHONIACORUM Symphony Orchestra of the University of Ljubljana.

Mojca Lavrenčič is also is an artistic leader and conducter one of the best tamburitza orchestras in Slovenia — Tamburjaši.

The young, but very successful Slovenian conductor is internationally recognized by her exceptional dedication to orchestral conducting in general and an incredible sense of interpretation, which allways finds the right way to the listener’s hearts.
